The most important genetic resources of kitchen-garden plants are stored at the Lithuanian Institute of Horticulture and Olericulture (Table 7).

Currently genetic resources of kitchen-garden plants consist of 42 species and 1100 strains and other samples, lines, breeding numbers, wild forms, etc. Some 47 strains of vegetables have been bred in Lithuania.
