Forest Trees Polymorphism

Preparation of Theoretical and Methodical Bases for In Vitro Genetic Identification of Polymorphism of Forest Trees and Evaluation of Embriogenic Potential

Implementation period: 2001-2006

Project manager: dr. Sigutė Kuusienė

Participating institutions: Lithuanian Forest Research Institute: dr. A. Gradeckas, dr. D. Žvingila, junior scientific staff R. Verbylaitė, doctoral students R. Areškevičienė ir R. Mockeliūnaitė-Lukšienė

Financed by: LVMSF

Purposes of the Project:

  1. To master DNA molecular research methods and to perform assessment of genetic diversity and clone identity of forest tree populations of various species;
  2. To master tissue and cell culture methods and to develop in vitro microreproduction system for selected hybrid trees.
