Sequencing center

Sequencing center detects DNA sequence by using automatic genetic analyzer of 16 capillaries 3130xl (Applied Biossystems) that is used in electrophoresis of DNA fragments coloured by fluorescent ink as well as their detection by using laser and computer analysis. DNA sequencing reactions are prepared by using sequencing BigDye® Terminator v3.1 Cycle Sequencing Kit and are based on the method of DNA chain termination (Sanger-dideoxy) with terminators (ddNTP) coloured by fluorescent ink. This kit can be used while sequencing single-stranded DNA, plasmidic DNA, PGR products and cosmids.

Results. Results of sequencing can be presented by e-mail as text documents (.seq), whereas electroferograms are presented in ABI format (.ab1) or printed.

Documents in ABI format can be previewed by using various programs, for example, Vector NTI, Chromas (free Chromas Lite version can be found www.technelysium.com.au/chromas.html), etc.
