The Health protection Agency, a Group on Immunization and Diagnosis, London, UK. A laboratory of immunization and diagnostic is one of the groups, belonging to Enteric, Respiratory and Neurological Laboratory of Health protection agency in London. The main tasks of laboratory are control of measles, mumps and German measles in UK, diagnostics of these infections and their prevention; in case of measles, mumps, German measles, polioma and parvovirus B19 the laboratory has to inform society and apply specific protection means; to consult and train other regional and national laboratories on protection against viruses and diagnosis issues; to provide other laboratories with required laboratory standards, diagnostic means, controlling serums and viruses.

A testing of specific antibodies, diagnosis of viruses, PGR reaction, genotyping are carried out in laboratory. The laboratory creates new sets of diagnosis and improves diagnosis methods. One of the achievements of this group is a creation of a test, required to set measles and mumps viruses in patients’ saliva. A Group on Immunization and Diagnosis is one the measles prevention laboratories belonging to World Health Organization, furthermore, a Group on Immunization and Diagnosis is one of two bank keepers of Global measles virus roots.
