Scientific interests of Virology Institute of Humboldt State University, Berlin, are molecular, epidemiological, virus evolution, cell biology and pathogenesis researches, development of vaccines and tests of diagnostics; a search of viruses inhibitors. The institute investigates mechanisms of virus pathogenesis and is interested in studies of mechanisms of molecular recognition, a search of ferments interacting with DNA and their application in molecular diagnosis.
