Protoplasts

Protoplasts are plant cells without a cell wall. DNA may get into protoplasts upon simple physican or chemical actions on protoplasts. If protoplasts are grown under favorable conditions, protoplast cell wall regenerates and it may grow into a complete plant. Protoplasts may be used for transformations conducted in order to produce agronomically-valuable plants resistant to diseases and environmental conditions.
